Hi there, my name is Anita James and I am probably familiar to quite a number of ladies in South East Queensland - Australia because of my machine embroidery classes that I have been involved in over the years. I have, in recent times, become more involved in the software side of our hobby and as a result have been writing Workbooks explaining the different techniques that I am currently using.
My interest in Machine Embroidery developed about 24 years ago when I purchased my first machine a Pfaff 7570. Back then we had a 4 x 4 hoop and we just loved this new found hobby we could play with. Over the years I have continued my journey with Pfaff Embroidery Machines and just recently purchased the beautiful Sensation.
Of course as we now know our hoops and designs are much larger and we with the help of our software can build beautiful large blocks. My software of choice is the Pfaff and or Husqvarna 5D Suite and in recent years I have taken more interest in what can be achieved with using it. In October 2011 I discovered a few things that I liked to do in 5D Design Creator and started using the machine stitches to do background quilting in my 360 x 350 blocks and was really hooked.
I found a Workbook at au.threadartist.wordpress.com called Cinnamon Serenade and found great delight in editing these designs into the blocks that Shirley had designed and it was then that I decided to add my touches to them with the Background Quilting Stitches. It became very addictive and as word passed around about what I was doing I was encouraged to write a workbook so that others could experience what I was doing and the result is now available for all to enjoy this journey through my website Chrystal Embroidery.
